 | New Covenant House of Hospitality |
St. Thomas More Parish has been a part of New Covenant House of Hospitality since it was started in 1978. New Covenant House is an ecumenical inner-city soup kitchen under the auspices of the Diocese of Bridgeport. Located on the west West Side of Stamford, it provides nutritious meals to the poor, the homeless, and the disadvantaged of lower Fairfield County. Catholic and Protestant Parishes from Stamford, Darien, Greenwich and New Canaan provide meals for the entire month.
New Covenant House was founded on the premise that all are welcome and that each person who passes through our door is to be treated with the same respect and dignity that one would provide to a guest in our own home. Additionally, our mission is to provide help, where possible, so that each person who comes to us will have an opportunity to become self-sufficient and reintegrate themselves into the mainstream of society.
We provide meals the third Saturday of every month. If you are interested in serving,
baking, cooking, or salad making on a regular or substitute basis, email
- Gretchen Brown at browncgcp@aol.com or
- Karen Dunn at kmdunnct@gmail.com
We can always use your help on a substitute basis if you’re not able to commit on a regular basis!
