St. Thomas More    Saint Augustine Medals of Service

Since 2005, Bishop William E. Lori has bestowed the annual "Saint Augustine Medals of Service," honoring the extraordinary volunteer contributions of lay women and men throughout Fairfield County, the "unsung heroes" in our midst. The Medal is presented to an individual or couple in each of the 87 parishes in Fairfield County, as well as four areas of Catholic Charities. Following is a list of recipients from St. Thomas More Church with comments by Rev. J. Barry Furey, Pastor.

2007: Anne and Paul Murray. "Anne and Paul are Eucharistic ministers, cooks at the New Covenant House soup kitchen, and supporters of the Thomas More Center in Wisconsin."

2006: Lennis Koontz. "Lennis has served as pastoral council president, finance council chairman, and financial advisor to Catholic Schools."

2005: Vicki LeBris. “As coordinator of the RCIA program, Vicki does a wonderful job guiding participants on their spiritual journey.”
