 | Feed My Starving Children |
FMSC uses volunteers to pack nutritious meals made out of soy, rice, vitamins and dehydrated vegetables. They then partner with relief organizations worldwide, such as Salesian Missions and many other distribution partners to distribute food to starving children. Each meal from FMSC costs about 17 cents to produce and 94% of all their income goes directly into the food program.
The food produced by FMSC is easy to make once it reaches its final destination. All you have to do is add the contents of each small pouch into boiling water. Each pouch yields 6 nutritious meals.
On Saturday and Sunday, October 3-4, 2009, one thousand volunteers will work
in 2-hour shifts at Middlesex Middle School to package
225,000 life-saving FMSC meals, to be shipped to starving
children in over 60 countries, to share Jesus’ love and to
give them hope for the future. This event is being hosted
by every church in Darien and co-sponsored by the
Council of Darien School Parents (CDSP) with support
from the whole community.
