Finance Council

St. Thomas More Parish has a Finance Council. In line with a policy of the Diocese of Bridgeport, the Finance Council is a consultative body of lay persons appointed by the Pastor J. Barry Furey to advise him in matters pertaining to the financial affairs of the parish. Members must include three reputable and practicing members of the parish who are knowledgeable and skilled in financial matters and known for their prudent judgement. The members of the Finance Council at St. Thomas More are:

• Peter Frank, Chairperson of the Council
• Rev. J. Barry Furey, Pastor, President of the Council, and ex officio member
• Klay Allen
• Chris LeBris
• James Sullivan
• Joseph D. Roxe, Parish Trustee and ex officio member
• Brian D. Young, Parish Trustee and ex officio member
• Deacon Roland Blier, Ex Officio member

The Finance Council works with the Pastoral Council that assists the Pastor in planning, coordinating, guiding, and directing various aspects of parish life.

Parish Administration Finance Manual updated by the Diocese of Bridgeport in February 2008 to improve and enhance support to parishes in administrative and financial matters. In May 2007, Bishop Lori issued a Parish Finance Program letter explaining the role of the Finance Council and setting forth steps to take should anyone have concerns about Parish financial matters.
